The 10th nation, nationalities and peoples’ day was celebrated in Wolaita Sodo University with panel discussion by invited guests and university officials.
The day was celebrated with the motto of “Nation, Nationalities and Peoples Participation for Superior Development and Transformation”. Opening the panel discussion, Abrham Alano (PhD), Vice President for Academic Affairs, said that the peace, development, equality, democratic nationality, and value that we are enjoying today are sacrifice paid by many, had laid a foundation for the establishment of a federal system. He stressed that celebrating the day would play a pivotal role in renewing the promises of the people to exert more effort in the realization of Ethiopia's renaissance.
In the discussion, the value of EPRDF constitution and its benefit for education sector in assuring quality, relevance and equity were discussed. The panelist shared their experience regarding the social attitude that to be developed to realize the nations, nationalities and peoples co-existence.
On the carnival which is coordinated by student’s union, Senbetie Toma (PhD), President of WSU, marked that the adoption of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia had laid the foundation for Ethiopians to exercise their rights and it allow them to benefit from the gains of development.
