College of Agriculture

1. Background

College of Agriculture has been established since the inception of Wolaita Sodo University,1999, at Faculty level. It started teaching learning processes with three departments: Animal and Range Sciences, Natural Resource Management and Crop Science and Horticulture.Eventually, the college has been expanded both in terms of programs and staff composition.Currently, the college hosts 7 department departments under which both graduate andundergraduate programs are being offered in different modalities.In addition to teaching learning processes, the college has been keenly engaged in conductingdemand based researches and offering many community services. Dairy farm, beef and pigfarms have been established to attach theoretical teaching with practices.

    Offering relevant, quality education and training; conducting demand driven researchand rendering accessible community services in the area of agriculture

 

College of Agriculture is among the colleges which were opened during the university establishment in 2007. Since then teaching learning, research and community services activities are being undertaken in the college. Currently, the college is running seven (07) undergraduate, nine (9) graduate programs, and one (1) PhD programs.
